Sarengo 10 Person Family Camping Tunnel Tent

The Sarengo 10-Person Family Camping Tunnel Tent is a 21'x8'x6' tunnel tent with plenty of standing space and inner tents for privacy. It is waterproof, easy to set up, and made with lightweight material making it the go-to tent for the summer! 

HOW DOES IT COMPARE?

Like the Como, Discovery, Capricorn, Icarus, Zeus, Oberon, Utah, Atlas+Miga, and Axis & Zulu, the Sarengo 10 is also part of 7-10 people range. It is on the top of the scale with its 10-person rating. 

Despite its 10-person rating, it is actually more suitable for 6 people. Its 2 sleeping rooms can accommodate 3 people each, leaving lots of room for your things in the living area. As an alternative, you can use one of the rooms for storage instead. To get a better idea of the tent's layout, you can view the floor area map in the image gallery. 

The Sarengo 10 is an old model – a CEC classic, and has a Standard construction. Quality assembly pieces were used however, they are not as lightweight as the materials in the Premium construction tents.  This tunnel tent weighs 23 kgs, placing it right in the middle of the scale in terms of weight. If you need a lighter tent, you should check out the Icarus which clocks in at only 15.6 kgs. On the other hand, if weight is not an issue, heavier tents like the Discovery and the Oberon are also worth seeing.

As for height allowance, the Sarengo 10 is on the lower end of the scale. It has an inner standing height of 200 cm only. This is sufficient for a group or family of average height. However, if you have special requirements for a particularly tall member, tents like the Zeus (250 cm) and Axis & Zulu (260 cm) provide more headroom. 

It packs down to 72 x 31 x 32cm, just below the middle mark of the scale. This makes the Sarengo pretty easy to load in a car. If you limited space though and needs a tent with a more compact packed size, the Icarus might be a better choice. 

STAY DRY

Have no worries about staying dry! The Sarengo 10 has a waterproof rain fly made with durable 210T polyester taffeta, which is coated with 3000mm polyurethane and UV-protected to help fight the elements and make your tent last longer. The seams are also tightly stitched with 6-7 stitches per inch and are fully seam-taped.

The floors in the sleeping area are waterproof as well, thanks to the Polyethylene fully sewn into the groundsheet. The rest of the inner tent has a tub-style groundsheet which is upwardly-curved and can be attached to the rain fly, keeping not only the water out but the bugs as well!

COOL COMFORT

The inner tent is lightweight and breathable 190T polyester. The mesh door panels and mesh vents on the full fabric doors and the rain fly allow air to circulate and lessens condensation, making the inside cool and comfy even in the summer heat.

SPACIOUS

Everything about the Sarengo 10 is spacious – from the separated, inner tents that can provide privacy, to the huge living area which you can use for storage, hanging out, or eating meals! 

PITCHING MADE EASY

 The Sarengo 10's tent sleeves are color-coded to match the poles making the assembly simple! Setting up after dark will be easier too with the polyester guy ropes woven with reflective 3M Scotch-lite thread. And let's not forget that the Sarengo 10 uses fewer stakes keeping the setting up part less complicated. 

STRONG AND STURDY

The reliable Ubertech shock corded poles are 45% stronger than fiberglass ones. Moreover, bigger and stronger ABS stakes are used to pin the tent down helping the tent stay put in unexpected wind conditions (Note: The Sarengo 10 is made for summer use and is not guaranteed to withstand gale force winds or hurricanes). Lastly, the large PP webbing straps positioned strategically at the high point of the poles for maximum resistance and tension, keeps the tent's shape. Maintaining the curvature of the rain fly is key to preventing moisture build up with the waterproof fabric.
